Open-wheel veteran Billy Decker leads the standings through seven point races with five top-five finishes giving him a commanding 69-point advantage over Gypsum Wholesalers teammate Pat Ward. Decker has not only been consistent so far in the century grinds, the Unadilla, N.Y. veteran has also been fast with three Integra Shocks Fast Times posted in qualifying runs. The traditional Independence Day Modified Championship will be one of the best at the 'Fast Track' as it features RWR's second Advance Auto Parts big-block tour event of the season. Decker and reigning overall Hoosier Tire-Sunoco Race Fuels Mr. DIRT Champion Tim Fuller shared victory lane in the 26th DIRT Challenge Cup in May which included a twin 50-lap feature format. The Monday evening card boasts a $6,000-to-win Modified finale plus a gigantic fireworks display to close out the program. Fuller captured the past two ‘Firecracker’ shootouts as well as the 2005 Hoosier-Sunoco Mr. DIRT Championship yet trails Decker (540), Ward (471) and Gary Tomkins (456) on the current SDS chart with 453 points with Alan Johnson (449) rounding out the front-five. Decker has posted two AAP Series feature wins while Fuller, brothers Alan and Danny Johnson, Brett Hearn and Jimmy Horton own one victory each. Decker also leads the Modified points standings at Rolling Wheels in search of his first-ever season title at the Elbridge oval while two-time defending RWR champion Tomkins stands second tied with Fuller. Opening day winner Russ Hefti tops the Rolling Wheels’ Sportsman points chart in defense of his crown for a second straight season with Joe Williams Jr. and Chris Higgins the closest in pursuit of their initial track titles.
