Empire State Invasion Up Next For World of Outlaws
Sprint Car Series ELBRIDGE, N.Y. (May 28) – The nationally acclaimed World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series brings its popular brand of open-cockpit competition to New York State as it invades the DIRT MotorSports™ NorthEast circuit for the 27th consecutive year. The big doubleheader leads off Monday, May 30 at Lebanon Valley Speedway and concludes Wednesday, June 1 at Rolling Wheels Raceway. The Empire State trip marks WoO's 25th stop in West Lebanon and the 27th A-Main held at Rolling Wheels. Fulton Speedway plays host to its first-ever World of Outlaws Sprint show on Monday, July 25, which marks the final WoO winged show of the year in New York. Pick-N-Pull Auto Parts presents the first-ever 'Sprint Car Spectacular' at RWR that features a 25-lap main event for the WoO Sprints plus a 20-lap A-Main for the Bobcat of Buffalo (NY) sponsored Patriot Sprint Group. WoO time trials are slated to start at 6:30 p.m. in Rolling Wheels' annual mid-week showdown. The undisputed 'King of the Outlaws' Steve Kinser has been at the forefront so far in the weekly battles headlining the 2005 WoO Series. Kinser captured his 19th points title last season and is well on his way to a fourth straight championship since wearing the inaugural crown in 1978. Kinser celebrated his 50th birthday on June 2, 2004 ---the same day Rolling Wheels ran--- just two months after gaining national attention for registering his 500th career A-Main at Houston Raceway Park in Texas. Thirty-three of those victories have come on Empire State clay. Over 200 points separated Kinser and runner-up Craig Dollansky in the '05 standings after the 'King' opened up Memorial Day Weekend on May 27 with his ninth victory of the season at Williams Grove (Pa.) Speedway. With his recent triumph on Friday, Kinser now totals 522 to remain the all-time Outlaws A-Main feature winner. Kinser won the first-ever Outlaw event staged at Lebanon Valley in 1981 while Lynn Paxton won the initial race at Rolling Wheels in 1980. Last season Donny Schatz time-trailed second fastest then overtook Kinser with just two laps left to score his first RWR win in dramatic fashion. Kinser won the Lebanon Valley event that was rain-delayed until July and cousin Mark Kinser claimed the A-Main the following day in a return appearance to Orange County Fair (NY) Speedway. Dollansky set a new one-lap track record (15.952sec/141.048mph) at Rolling Wheels last June while Danny Lasoski toured the West Lebanon half-miler in a time of 16.383sec. (109.870mph) in 2003 to hold the Valley's one-lap speed record. With the Patriot Sprint Group's third event of the season scheduled at Canandaigua (NY) Speedway on May 28, George Suprick and Chuck top the points chart.
